Almost nobody likes being on camera. That is not the obstacle you think it is. It is the entire opportunity.

Here is the logic. The discomfort you feel about showing up on video is the same discomfort your competitors feel. Most of them will let it win. Which means the small number of people willing to be a little awkward on camera, consistently, end up owning the trust in their market almost by default. The discomfort is not in the way of the moat. The discomfort is the moat.

Footage is an asset that compounds

Every clip you record is not a one-time post. It is a library entry that keeps paying out. The firm that started filming two years ago is, at this point, essentially unreachable, not because they are more talented, but because they have a back catalog of trust that a competitor cannot assemble in a quarter no matter the budget. Video of yourself, being useful, is one of the few marketing assets that genuinely appreciates.

The bar is lower than you think

The thing camera-shy people get wrong is assuming the job requires charisma. It does not. It requires reps and consistency. You do not have to be magnetic. You have to be present, useful, and recurring. The polish comes from volume, not from talent, the fortieth video is better than the first for reasons that have nothing to do with natural ability and everything to do with having made thirty-nine.

What we’ve learned doing it ourselves

I can say this because we have lived it. We build our own presence on camera, awkwardly at first, and the single biggest lesson is that the awkwardness fades and the library remains. The version of us on video a year ago is stiffer than the version now, and both are worth more than the videos we did not make. You do not film because you are good at it. You get good at it because you film.

So: you do not need to love the camera. You need to be on it, this week, and again next week. That is the whole secret, and it is available to anyone willing to be briefly uncomfortable on a recurring basis. Book a call with us a https://legacygrowth.life to learn more
